You have been bringing me tenpennyworth of gravel and expecting change. Here is a better offer, and the only one of its kind I make: ten berries, ten logs and ten rocks - thirty things, three copper if I bought them off you straight - and I will give you something there is no other way to get.

- Rock for the trader × 10
Where to go
Nothing here you have not fetched before - berry bushes, deadwood and loose rock, all of it a minute past the marker stones. This time it is ten of each rather than five, so it is two trips or a big pack. Bring it back to Trader Hesk rather than to the keeper: they stand on the far side of the firepit from the notice board, with a gold mark over their head. Do not sell it at the stall on the way in - thirty items is three copper there, and this is worth far more.

Turn-in
A chest. Nobody makes these and I am not telling you where I get them. Set it down anywhere and it stays put, and here is the part worth the thirty: it is not yours. Anyone can open it, anyone can take what is in it, and anyone can pick the whole thing up and walk off. Which makes it the only way in this world to leave something where a friend can find it - or to lose the lot to a stranger.
