How to craft it
Open the workbench in the Haven, choose Recipes, and select Stone Axe to lay out the pattern. You can also place the ingredients by hand anywhere in the 3×3 grid; the shape matters, but its position does not.
When to make it
A stone axe consumes three stone and two sticks in an asymmetric head-and-handle pattern. Its upstream cost is two raw rocks, one log processed through planks, and only part of the resulting stick supply.
Build it after the first sword and essential travel supplies unless the axe is the immediate goal. The shaped recipe can move around the grid but must keep the same relative arrangement; scattered ingredients will not produce an output.
