How it behaves
It begins to flee at 11 metres, reaches 7.6 metres per second, and rests under nearby cover after dusk.
Hunting notes
Approach from close cover with a stone sword selected. The first hit startles passive animals, so close the distance before attacking and keep enough energy for the chase.
Preparation and rewards
A fox is a fur hunt rather than a food hunt. It appears alone, drops only one meat, and has the best fur chance among passive lowland animals. Look along forest, taiga, and meadow cover where a short approach is possible. Because it notices danger early and runs at 7.6 m/s, commit only when close; repeated open-ground chases spend energy that would be better reserved for the return to the Haven.
